Program Opportunities
All of the programs at The William Penn House have a goal of making a difference in the world.
Some engage participants in direct service activities, exposing them to conditions in the world that are often ignored, and empowering them with an opportunity to make a difference. Other programs inform people about how our social and political systems work, how things are interconnected, and how we can make a difference. Many combine both aspects of these experiences for more intensive learning.

Washington Quaker Workcamps:
Appreciative Inquiry: a workshop for for people in position of leadership, and for groups with projects or tasks that are calling for creative and innovative approaches. May 5-7, 2008
Family Eco-Tour/Workcamp: an affordable, week-long family workcamp with an ecological perspective. June 29 - July 6, 2008
Teachers of Peace: a workshop for middle- and high-school teachers creating curriculum for building a "culture of peace".
Testimonies for Our Times:
is a seminar program for groups of high school- and college-aged young people. These seminars focus on ways Friends testimonies of peace, equality, truth, simplicity and community can be expressed in the national policy arena.
Simply Awesome Youth Seminar: A weekend workshop for high-school students exploring the Quaker testimony of Simplicity.
